Boost Your Energy on the Job

September is Yoga Awareness Month.  Yoga can be a very powerful tool for improving your health overall, as well as, your performance in life and on the job.  I found my way to yoga about 10 years ago as an injured runner.  Prior to that, I thought yoga was boring.  Not only did yoga help me heal from my injury but it also helped heal things inside of me that I didn’t know needed healing.  I was so inspired that I became a yoga teacher.

Therefore, each week in September I plan to focus on a different aspect of how yoga can help you be more effective on the job.  I’m starting with the benefit of increased energy and productivity.

With the pace that the world seems to move these days, something most of us seek in life and in work is to have more energy and be more productive.    We want to get more stuff done, period.  Yoga can help you have more energy and be more productive.

Here are a couple of ways it does that:

  1. The connection of movement to breath helps boost cognitive function.  It encourages individuals to be present, improve attention spans, and make better decisions.

  2. It creates mental clarity by reducing stress and anxiety and fostering a calm mindset.  The mental resilience allows employees to tackle tasks with greater concentration and problem-solving abilities.

Each week in September, I will share another workplace-oriented benefit of yoga and a 10-ish minute yoga practice you can do right from your office.  No need to change clothes or have a mat.  You only need a desk and a chair and a willing spirit.

This week’s video is designed to show you some yoga poses you can do to increase your energy and productivity.  Click here to access the video.

Inquiry Question How can you create space for just 5-10 minutes a day to do something good for your energy and productivity, like some yoga poses?

Namaste,

Anita
